It was the first general purpose electronic computer. This project was done in 1946, and it was famous by name "Giant Brain". "John Mauchly" and "John Presper Eckert" developed this giant electronic base computer.
The purpose was to build a computer that can calculate artillery firing tables, the setting that uses for different weapons under different condition for target accuracy; so this project was sponsored by an American Military.
The gates we encountered in class, which were "AND" gate and "OR" gate, were used in ENIAC for calculations.
